The Market in Brazoria County

People ask me all the time, "how is the housing market in Brazoria county" and "are we in a Real Estate slump"? To answer both questions.... "It couldn't be better" and "NO", we are not feeling the effects of the so called "Real Estate Slump" here. Yes, it is true that we do have a slight bit more foreclosures on the market than what we usually do, but the market is stable. We have many new jobs coming up in Brazoria and Matagorda county due to the new L&g plant in Quintana Beach, the new reactors going into the nuclear plant in Matagorda County and the owners of the company Of American Rice are soon to put in a Olive Oil Plant and a Cookie Plant in the Freeport area. These upcoming jobs are and will relocate new people to the area.
As for the current homes on the market, we are really short on inventory in the price range of $70,000 to $130,000. These seem to be the homes that are currently in demand and as stated before, there are very few.
With the interest rates dropping, I foresee nothing but good things in the housing market for Brazoria County and surrounding area's.
